A project:

Every day we hear the word “project “in our life. The truth is, we do not know what this word means. This word was used since the down of time. we use this word or this concept in schools, collages, and companies.

A project is:  Temporary activity designed to produce a unique product, service or result.

A project considers a study and it be a period to reach the goal of what the company want it. and it also consider a set of operations designed to accomplish a specific goal. A project is used to develop and build the company’s business. as it known it is a set of activities planned to improve the company. As we know that the projects are important to improve companies to success but sometimes it could the cause of business or company failure.

Project Failure cause:

• There is a lot of causes of new project failure

As Charles R. Swindoll said “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it”

So, when we set a project there is a lot planes and guidelines sets in order to follow these lines. And the company should know that there will be risks if we set or plan a new project to the company.

First: Poor Preparation

Anyone wants to set or start a new this he must have an overview about the thing that he planned to do as well as companies. companies must have a clear overview and picture about the project. We must know what are the thing that could make the project success. Having a meeting with employees to discuss about the strength and the weakness of it , the cost , and the period .

Second: Poor Planning

The lack knowledge of planning can cause project failure. In Spike Cavell’s survey also revealed that 40% of projects fail due to poor planning and lack of resources . Spend time to make alternative plan to the project  as  Brain Tracy sums it up brilliantly, “Every minute you spend in planning saves 10 minutes in execution; this gives you a 100% return on energy!”

 

Third: Poor leadership

In our mind the leader is the project manger. The manger should be in agreement with his employees. The leader or manger should be aware and know that his employs have the full knowledge of his project . The leader must have a huge communication and trust with his employees.

Fourth : Not Paying Attention to Warning Signs  

Sometimes there could be a signs that warning us of something that will lead our project to fail.

The mange should take theses sings in consideration in order to take the right action.

Fifth: Poor Project Handling

There must be a person who is handling the project progress. the manger must always put or do a weekly meeting to see the progress and to know what happen or to where his employee are in doing the project. Know what the strength and weakness point in the project are. the manger should know the problems that could affect his project in order to solve it and have a backup idea to erase the problem.

Sixth: Inaccurate Cost Estimations

The unknown cost can cause a project failure. If the cost is not accurate the manger should know about it. May the manger or his employee doing something wrong. if the cost is beyond the manger expectation, the manger can stop the progress of this project.

Seventh: Little Communication at every level of management:

A little communication whether it was with the upper manager or with your head master, a small communication could help the company to avoid failure in all their units not only in projects. If the communication level is weak this could cause a project failure. Every  employee who is working in the project should give his opinion and ideas in order to see the progress and to see were the project stop .

Eighth : Member Motivation :

The manger and the employee should motivate each other. if there is no motivation  words there will not be an interest to complete and end  the project  .

• As it shown here the causes of project failure. The manger should have a alternative plan, employee training project, project management software in order to success in the future.

My opinion:

In my opinion , one of the biggest reasons of  project failure is poor leadership because one of the biggest reasons  for project success is the manger word .

The manger should put a daily reports to watch the progress .

The manger should have a backup plan or alternative solution in order to prevent this failure .

The manger should have a daily or weekly communication .

The manger should insure himself with back up money  .
